Kevin Durant Drops 66 at Rucker Park

The NBA lockout is a month old, but players have kept busy. For Kevin Durant, keeping busy means fulfilling a lifelong dream and lighting the Rucker up to the tune of 66 points in an Entertainers Basketball Classic game last night. That’s two points short of the EBC record 68 points, set by Steve Burtt Jr. in 2007, and eight shy of the park record held by Joe “The Destroyer” Hammond. At one point during the fourth quarter, Durant drained four consecutive three-pointers while facing double and sometimes triple coverage. What’s even more impressive is that the NBA’s reigning scoring champ for the past two seasons did it all without even flinching. He doesn’t even turn 23 until next month……

Good to see NBA players taking it back to the grassroots during the lockout
