“London Calling” To Be Used For 2012 Olympic Campaign

“A nuclear error, but I have no fear
‘Cause London is drowning, and I live by the river”
-Joe Strummer, “London Calling”, 1979

It’s pretty hilarious that a song about the apocalypse is being used as the theme song, but that’s what’s happening. With London as the site for the next Olympic Games, it’s kind of cliche-yet appropriate-that The Clash’s “London Calling” be the “official track” for the event. Meanwhile, Joe Strummer is spinning in his grave. London Calling is still one of my favorite albums though. My friend I often argue about which is better: London Calling or Combat Rock?
